Preparing for Countertop Install
Preparing for Template:
- Everything on the countertops should be removed.
- If you are providing the cooktop, sink, faucet, air switch, grommet, etc., please send the specification sheets to your Designer prior to the template date.
- If that’s not possible, please have the specification sheets or the items onsite the day of.
- New construction homes must have all cabinets and panels permanently attached to the wall and floor.
- Farmhouse sinks must be installed.
- A person familiar with the project must be on-site to discuss details.
Preparing for Install:
- Job site should be ready and clear of other subcontractors where countertops are to be installed.
- Job site must be accessible by box trucks and vans.
- Faucet, sink, and any accessories such as grommets or air switches not supplied by CKF must be onsite.
- Existing countertops must be removed, plumbing must be disconnected, and large appliances (excluding dishwashers) must be removed from the install area.
- Drawers should be removed from base cabinets.
- If your project is a remodel and you are not keeping an existing tile backsplash, it must be removed before installation.
- It is recommended to wait until the following day to have plumbing reconnected after install.
- CKF is not responsible for damages to appliances left in place during the installation of the countertops.
