WHAT IS QUARTZITE?
Quartzite is a natural stone comprised of quartz and various other minerals. Its stunning designs are organically made through the heat and pressure of tectonic plates.
GENERAL CLEANING
- Wipe spills immediately.
- Use a mild solution of dish soap and warm water.
- Always use a clean, soft cloth.
- Do not use harsh and abrasive scouring pads or cleaning agents. Using these items may permanently alter the finish.
DEEP CLEANING
GREASE STAINS
Create a spreadable paste of equal parts baking soda and water and cover the stain with the paste. Cover the paste with plastic wrap and tape it down on each corner to create a tight seal. Allow the paste to sit overnight or 24 hours, then use a bladed edge to gently remove the hardened paste. Rinse the area with warm water and use a soft rag to dry.
LIME SCALE AND HARD WATER STAINS
Apply a paste of equal parts baking soda and white vinegar. Let the mixture sit on the surface for 10-20 minutes, then remove with cold water using a non-scratch scouring pad. Repeat as necessary.
SCRATCHES AND CHIPPING
- For scratch and chip repair, contact your local CKF showroom.
HEAT AND UV EXPOSURE
- Quartzite can be installed outdoors due to its naturally occurring colors, which will not fade due to direct sunlight.
- Quartzite is heat resistant. Always use a trivet under hot items and countertop appliances. Scorching and cracking may occur if quartzite is exposed to high heat.
