Top 5 Trends from KBIS 2024

This year’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, also known as KBIS, was held in fabulous Las Vegas and showcased the newest design trends for 2024. The booths were bigger, better, and more imaginative than ever before, making our list of top trends for this year one to remember. So, let’s get down the top five trends we spotted while browsing the show!

Color Everywhere

Color was a major trend last year, but this year, color took over KBIS like never before! Color was in every corner of every booth, covering appliances, shower heads, and faucets in a vibrant hue. Countertops are also being influenced by the color craze, with more surface materials sporting subtle chromatic veinings or bold mixes of color. Color even made its way into cabinet drawer boxes, offering a fun pop of brightness in every crevice, literally!

Soft Green Shades

Green is also making its second appearance at KBIS, but this time in a lighter shade. Light green offers the luxury of a fun color while keeping an understated tone, which is perfect for those who want to hop on the color trend but don’t want to make a bold statement. This color appeared on cabinets, appliances, sinks, and bathtubs throughout the show, and we can’t get enough of it!

Reeded and Rounded

Two trends that were made incredibly prominent throughout the show were curves and reeds. Almost every booth had a different way of showing these versatile trends, including arched doorways, reeded cabinets, countertops, and backsplashes, and even curved faucets. These two trends are fabulous on their own, but together, they take each other to a whole new level. We saw curved edges on islands and even completely round pedestal sinks boasting the reeded look. One thing is for certain, sharp edges are out, rounded ones are in (bonus points if it has a reeded detail).

70’s Vibes

The 70s are back, and we’re with it! Alongside the rainbow of colors, design trends that swept the 70s are back to reclaim their throne. Just take this kitchen by GE Cafe for example. The under-sink curtain, floral wallpaper, and funky cabinet hardware emanate the design style of the decade, but with a modern touch, of course! Would you add 70s-inspired elements to your kitchen?

Mix and Match Metals

And last but not least, metals made a big appearance at this year’s KBIS, showing up in all sorts of inspiring ways. Artistic metal sinks, like the one pictured below, were a crowd favorite and led onlookers to view metal as fun and exciting, contrary to its long-going reputation of being cold and uninviting. Hammered and stone-like metals were also massive points of interest at the show, especially when used on range hoods and sinks!

The AILA Sink by Thompson Traders

Lastly, an innovation that deserves an honorable mention is the world’s first kitchen and bath product created from an AI-generated image, the AILA Sink! This sink, handcrafted by coppersmithing artisans in Santa Cobre, Mexico, was created by Leslie Carothers and was named one of the NKBA’s “Top 5 Technology Products” at KBIS this year. Leslie fed the AI bot text prompts to create this one-of-a-kind sink, which is the first AI-generated sink available on the market. This sink is an incredible breakthrough in the design industry and we’re sure more designs created with the help of AI will pop up in the future!
